Morocco has awarded a major road infrastructure contract under the MA North-East Economic Development Project, strengthening transport connectivity in the country’s northern regions. The contract, published on January 16, 2026, was awarded following an international Request for Bids (RFB) procedure financed by the IBRD (Loan No. 94170).

The awarded contract relates to the doubling (dédoublement) of National Road RN2, covering a stretch from PK 419+250 to PK 437+400, totalling 18.15 kilometres. The project connects Driouch to Arouit in Nador Province, a strategic corridor aimed at improving mobility, road safety, and economic integration in northeastern Morocco.

The contract duration is 18 months, with works expected to enhance traffic capacity and logistics efficiency along one of the region’s key transport axes.

The contract was awarded to BIOUI TRAVAUX, a Morocco-based construction firm headquartered in Oujda.
